The project supports an approach that integrates technical, socioeconomic, and environmental aspects into the planning and implementation of local energy plans, with the aim of contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions in public lighting across the Euro-MED area.

The expected results of the project are:

  • Promote energy efficiency and the reduction of CO2 emissions in public lighting through the adoption of a joint strategy based on the results obtained from the implementation of the project’s pilot actions;
  • Develop an intervention methodology that includes funding for environmentally friendly public lighting optimization projects and investments;
  • Disseminate effective solutions based on tested activities, capable of being transferred and replicated both inside and outside the Programme area.

The activities of the ProLIGHTmed project began on January 1, 2024, and will end on September 30, 2026, for a total duration of 33 months.

Total project budget: €2,949,785.00 (Interreg funds: €2,359,828.00)

Other projects

RENOVA aims to create a national network of local hubs, each grouping local consultants to provide standardized, high-quality support services to public authorities. The service will cover technical aspects such as energy audits, design, quality, financial engineering for Energy Performance Contracts and blended finance, as well as legal aspects (bundling, pooling, procurement, contracts) to bring renovation plans to life within public building portfolios.
The EASY WASTE project tackles the issue of marine litter in the maritime area between Greece and Italy with determination, with particular attention to waste dispersed both accidentally and intentionally. By promoting efficient collaboration between fishermen and port authorities, it provides comprehensive and innovative solutions capable of revolutionizing critical waste management.
The UNLOCK project, co-financed by the Interreg Europe 2021–2027 program, aims to strengthen the green hydrogen economy and the competitiveness of European SMEs. It involves partners from various European countries and seeks to reduce regional disparities by sharing best practices.
