In particular, the resilience of the Italian energy system has been severely tested by volatility and restrictions in the gas market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So they have become current again&nbsp;<strong><em>strategies to ensure the energy security of our country<\/em><\/strong>, historically among the European countries most dependent on supplies from third countries (73% compared to an EU average of 57%), despite the undoubted progress made in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taking into account the evolution of geopolitical balances, which are particularly uncertain today following various regional crises and the war in Ukraine, it appears increasingly urgent, on the one hand,&nbsp;<strong><em>consolidate the transition towards a more efficient national energy system that is less dependent on fossil fuels by accelerating the weight of renewables<\/em><\/strong>; on the other hand, it is equally important and wise&nbsp;<strong><em>Strengthen the country's networks and infrastructure to ensure its energy autonomy<\/em><\/strong>, trying to concretely create that \u201chub\u201d for access to natural gas that has been talked about for years and has recently returned to the forefront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this scenario, Southern Italy has strategic importance, and Puglia itself plays a central role, reaffirmed by existing infrastructure and numerous ongoing projects: from offshore wind farms to Hydrogen Valley, to the doubling of the TAP gas pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These issues were discussed during the Workshop promoted by DiTNE, in collaboration with Confindustria and CNA Brindisi, on the theme \"<strong>GAS, INFRASTRUCTURE AND ENERGY SECURITY<\/strong>\u201d which was held at Palazzo Nervegna in Brindisi on February 7th: the event was attended by national and regional institutional representatives, experts, and representatives of some of the main national companies and associations in the energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Moderator&nbsp;<\/strong>it was the journalist Francesco G.
